Best Indian/Sri Lankan place in town. Hands down.

Spectacular eating! First Sri Lankan experience and we loved it. Our favourites were the Coconut Sambol and the hot sauce that came with one of the appetizers.Also, the person that served us one such a good dude. Full marks for the whole experience.

Been going there for years but lately it has gone down hill very badly. The food has no taste, its mostly cheap veggie dishes, they are always out of things. Service is not great either as it used to be. I am sad to see it decline as we have spent so many memories there in the past years.

this is my favourite restaurant in ottawa! even though the menu already does, Ranjan always makes sure to accommodate different dietary needs - almost half of their options are vegan or able to be made vegan. the roti and coconut sambol is an essential appetizer. amazing, prompt service and a wide selection of authentic food. i've been there several times, trying different dishes every time, and i'm never disappointed. there's a reason they have a guest book!

Excellent food, the owner recommendations was so right . The Mutton roles, the roasted beef, the fried vegetable rice and the guava. Juice was delicious 👍👍 Can t wai for my next visit 💖💖💖

Fantastic food, flavorful and authentic. The staff was very accommodating and gave us super friendly service. They recommended dishes and the food arrived really quickly. A hidden gem with the construction there but they are definitely open. If you love indian chai or don't even know what it is try it on a cooler day. It will warm you up.

Excellent food and service

This was the best food we had in Ottawa on our recent trip. It was incredibly vegan-friendly, our server very excitedly gave us so many great recommendations, and we couldn't have been happier with the food. Everything was delicious, flavourful, fresh, and there was such huge variety in the flavours. The owners were so passionate and enthusiastic about the food they make, which only made us fall in love with the place even more.

We took takeout from this restaurant given that you can't do in house dining at the moment. The food was amazing. Well prepared and lots of unexpected extras that come with the food. The service was also very quick. I recommend you call and pick up your order instead of using skip the dishes because the guy is really helpful to recommend things you might like. They answer the phone even if you call outside of the normal restaurant hours.

The lunch buffet is really worth the price. Family run business, the owner is really nice and friendly. The curry there tastes quite special and amazing, especially the beef/mutton curry.Definitely come try it out if you’re a fan of spicy curry.

Great food, friendly service. Not the place to go if you're in a rush. If you're used to Northern Indian food, this is not the same thing. Order adventurously and enthusiastically, leftovers keep well.

Quite possibly one of the best buffets downtown Ottawa; so many vegetarian and halal options. Service is incredible, freshly made naan bread delivered to the table... and the quality of food is 5+. I've been twice and will undoubtedly return. Soooo good.

Great location, just away from the busy Bank street. Love the south Indian options.. Try the dosa or masala dosa.... Kothu roti is very tasty too... Ambience is good... Parking was a little trouble to find... Loved the service...

Lovely place for Indian food downtown. Bonus if you’re in during lunch time, there’s a $15 lunch buffet. Great spread of vegetarian and non-veg dishes. Even dessert is provided 😱 Service is not the best, you might have to clear empty dishes yourself, and the naan station might not always be manned, but if you ask, the staff are very willing to help. Great effort :) meats are halal as confirmed by staff. Would recommend 👍🏻

We were reminded what a sublimely good restaurant this is last night when we ordered food for six at home for my husband's dinner. None of our guests had eaten there before and were so impressed with the quality and flavours. The owners treated us so nicely and everything we ate was tasty. They are doing a decent takeout business with the advent of Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes but I have a feeling they'd love to see more people dining in, too. Let's do that so we don't lose this Ottawa gem.

Great food, good price, pleasant atmosphere.

I didn't really like the food. Everything was too sweet for me. Dosa was thick and definitely no south Indian touch. (Maybe Sri Lanka, as the owner is originally from there).But the host was polite and nice.

Great lunch buffet, very sweet servers and a fantastic vegetarian selection. Some really flavor packed veg curries, hard to choose a favorite but the coconut green beans are probably it.

I still really like this place for a lunch buffet. It's unfortunate that the West End location shut down. They still do a decent lunch buffet and if you dare for dinner order the double beef it's probably the hottest dish you'll ever eat. I feel bad for them because the outside is constantly under construction and there is garbage all over the front it looks rundown and they are suffering because of it.

SO GOOD!🤤I went here because I wanted a dosa buffet, but got there and found out it was on the weekends. I was about to leave when the kind employee stopped me and told me they'd make me a dosa and I am SO glad he did because it was one of the best meals of my life! So many delicious vegan options and a perfectly crisp dosa. I'll be going here next time I'm in Ottawa for sure!

Amazing food, reasonably priced, and friendly service. I'm not a fan of spicy foods and there are plenty of non-spicy options/variants. Looking forward to going back.

Absolutely loved this little gem. Staff was super attentive, patient and friendly. Food was also amazing and exceeded expectations.

The food is always good and flavourful here. Ceylonta is my first Sri Lankan food experience. I had veggies on small plates and rice/bread, lamb, chicken, and fish dish. The fish wasn't my favourite, but it is preference I guess. The guy is very friendly and he gives really good recommendations.

The food was really good! The atmosphere was nice! Everyone who worked there was really nice and very helpful with ordering. Generous portions. Had lots of left overs and they tasted even better the next day. Highly recommend this place. I will be going again soon.

The food was outstanding! The chef was very accommodating to dietary restrictions and did a fantastic job selecting dishes for the 5 of us.

Have eaten in and ordered take-out countless times at Ceylonta and absolutely love it! Vege thali is great to get a bunch of different flavours (small portions of 7 different vege dishes + rice + papadam). We usually get a double-order if for more than 2 people. Also, devilled chicken (can be quite spicy) and chicken palandi are awesome. Lot's of vegetarian and gluten free items available. Staff have always been very friendly and are happy to suggest items if you tell them what you like and have never been there.

Awesome combination of Sri Lankan & South Indian cuisine. Owner- a very gentleman. We had a great experience.

Tried Ceylonta last night for dinner with friends. At first we were totally overwhelmed with the menu options, having never been there before. Our server could sense that and offered to bring us an array of popular dishes, to give us a true sense of what they offered. Everything that was brought out was absolutely delicious, hot, colorful, and we couldn't get enough. We all ate way more than we should have, and left full, with enough for lunch for to the following day. This was the first time for two of us eating real Sri Lankan food, & I am positive that it will not be the last. Thank you for the amazing service and wonderful recommendations. We will be back!
